Top tailor made holidays Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka wildlife safaris and holiday tours … a fabulous destination that we will focus in this post. Towering up in the central highlands, Horton Plains is the highest plateau on the island. The cloud forests here are rich in endemic plants and animals that have adapted to the cooler climes (temperatures can fall below freezing at night). Birds such as the Sri Lankan whistling thrush and Sri Lankan bush warbler are best seen here. The dwarf lizard, found only in the montane zone, has evolved the ability to give birth to live young in order to avoid the problems of laying in such egg-chilling temperatures.

Udawalawe National Park: is far less crowded than Yala, which completely changes the experience, making Udawalawe a more satisfying safari. When we were there, we barely saw more than one or two jeeps. Whenever we spotted animals, we were by ourselves and felt so immersed and captivated by the moment. At one point, a small group of elephants with 2 babies crossed the path just in front of our jeep. They were so close, we could almost touch them. They stayed there for around 20 minutes, just eating and socialising with each other. This was one of the most magical moments of our safari at Udawalawe.

This white sand beach in the small seaside town of Unawatuna is a great place to relax. There are a number of snorkeling and diving operators in town who take advantage of the abundance of coral reefs just off the beach. Colorful fish and plentiful turtles are the norm in these waters. There are a number of great dining options along the beach, which welcome visitors to use their sun loungers and relax the day away with a drink in hand. Visitors can find Gal Viharaya in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Gal Viharaya is a famous Buddhist site and is celebrated for its many caves and large sculptures of Buddha which are carved into the rock faces. They are extremely well preserved, even though they were crafted in the 12th century. To the side of one of the statues, a code of conduct is inscribed. The code, when followed, was meant to purify the Buddhist monks and bring them together under one order. It was created by a very famous king: King Parakramabahu the first. Today, Gal Viharaya is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular sites of pilgrimage. Find more info Tailor Made Holidays To Sri Lanka.

The Kandy to Ella train journey is said to be one of the most scenic, epic train journeys in not only just Sri Lanka but the world. So with a few days to spare in Sri Lanka, I decided to purchase a ticket for $1.50 and climb aboard for the 5-hour journey. Yes, the train really does cost just $1.50. I have now taken the train in both directions. From Kandy to Ella and in reverse from Ella to Kandy. On both occasions, I just arrived at the train station and bought the cheapest ticket and walked on. I didn’t sit in a seat, I preferred to an open door and hang my legs over the edge for the entire journey.

Top travel locations to visit in Myanmar

Myanmar is an incredible travel destination, there is such an abundance of color, exotic places and interesting attractions. Not many people know about Myanmar, some only know it as Burma, the old name, and most people have the same reaction when they hear something like this from northern Thailand’s neighbors: “Myanmar, is this even a country?”

It is also amazing, impressive and strikes you as a very cold shower since you make the first step in the airport. Even though I seriously documented myself before heading out this summer, nothing prepared me for the reality that you will discover there. Whether you want to get there in the very near future, or want to enrich your general culture a little, you should know a few things about Myanmar.

Vaccines: And here’s how we get to the favorite topic of all tourists and, precisely why, something more delicate. Is it safe or not to travel to Myanmar (and not only) if you are in good health? Well, what we can tell you is what we chose and what made us make a decision or another. We started at the end of 2017 on a longer trip and didn’t know exactly where we were going. That is why before I left I got typhoid and diphtheria / antitetanus vaccines. It is true, however, that we met during our trip quite a few tourists who did not take any precautionary measures. What we advise you is that, if you are uncertain, talk to a specialist doctor before explaining in detail what to do. Only then will you be able to make the best decision, whether or not to get vaccinated.

Speaking of which, we have been told in Myanmar so many times that we are beautiful that we got a bit up. Not being accustomed to such goodwill, I initially thought that there should be an interest in the middle, that they were far too friendly, but it was not. They seem to like tourists, feel good about them and are very curious and sincere. Only in Bagan did I meet traders who were a little more insistent, but not as far away as the Balinese, the Turks or the Moroccans. At the first refusal, any attempt would end, which, we tell you from experience, does not happen much in other parts. And, as a very valuable tip, remember “Mingalarbar”. It is the greeting of the locals, it means a good day and you will surely impress them, especially if you come through the rural areas. Discover additional details at https://globalhawkmyanmar.com/.

The bottom line is simple: there are two completely different styles of travel, and prices are tailor-made. Returning, however, to our experience, a room at a decent hotel (repeat, not luxurious) starts at $ 30-40 / night, domestic flights are about $ 70-100 / person, compared to the $ 7- you get on the bus, the balloon flight in Bagan starts from $ 300 / person. The food also cost us a lot – about $ 5-7 / person for a dinner – and the trips were not too cheap. Comparing, therefore, with Thailand or Bali (both destinations where we have spent quite a long time), Myanmar ranks among the most expensive destinations, despite much worse tourism infrastructure.

Contrary to (my) expectations, tourism in Myanmar is highly developed. They have very good hotels and resorts, agencies that offer guide and transportation services, domestic flights, restaurants and shows for tourists, souvenirs, observation towers, information boards, children and women who keep you and follow you on a bike-only basis. Almost all women and children, regardless of status, area or job, wear tanaka face: a tree resin paste. Discover extra info on https://globalhawkmyanmar.com/en/tour-program/trekking-tour/.

You must see Nepal at least once and Nepal trekking tour

Everest trekking tips for a fabulous trekking location. Here are some tricks if you plan to tour Nepal. Stay Out of the Sun Whenever Possible. The higher you go up in altitude, the lower the levels of UV Protection you are getting. Some days on the trail, the sun can be brutal, giving you solar radiation from its powerful rays. Staying out of the sun is not only good for minimizing those pesky wrinkles and avoiding skin cancer, but it can also improve your chance of being successful on the trek. When you get sunburned you become dehydrated, and back to the tip of keeping yourself hydrated, being dehydrated can cause all sorts of problems in the mountains and eventually limiting your chance of success. Of course, when you are walking during the day, there may be no cover from those potent rays, but you need to take as much care as possible to minimize those harsh emissions. The first way to protect yourself if by applying a factor 50 sunblock throughout the day. The mountain is not the place to top up that holiday tan you are hoping to bring back to work with you on your return home, when you get back to Kathmandu after the climb, you can do as you please, but while in the mountains, you need to block those harmful rays from your skin. The second way of protecting yourself is to always wear your goofy looking, yet extremely important, sun hat. Get yourself a light weight, brimmed sunhat to wear on days when the sun is shining and you will save yourself from some of the dreaded headaches you so adamantly want to avoid.

In the northwest of Nepal lies a region ringed like a horseshoe shape of soaring peaks called Dolpo. These peaks rise higher than 21,000 feet and have a cold high desert feel to it. Home to people of Tibetan decent since the early centuries of the Christianity, Tibetan refugees continue to trickle into Dolpo. Most of the Tibetans follow the Tibetan Buddhist religion though some practice the Bon religion too. This religion pre-dates Buddhism and was widespread in Tibet until the introduction of Buddhism. However, Bon is considered one of the five schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The region opened to trekking in 1989 and has an untouched and unexplored feel to it. Here a trekker can meet nomadic people living a lifestyle that has stretched back for centuries. The Dolpo region is hard to match for its pristine beauty and rugged charm. The Upper Dolpo and Lower Dolpo trekking offer an endless variety of landscapes not to mention a chance to interact with the local people. Truly Dolpo houses incredible diversity and can be visited many times over with never having the same experience twice. Though not as extreme as its neighbor to the east, Mustang, Dolpo also lies in a rain shadow area and is much drier than the rest of Nepal and receive less rain. In Dolpo, the elevation of the trails ranges from 1650 meters (5,412ft) to 5136 meters (16,846ft) above sea level.

Top advices : Hire your porter or guide in either Kathmandu or better yet when you arrive in Lukla on the plane. Prices are expensive when you book from your own country and if you book your guides in Nepal, you can be sure that more money is going directly to them as opposed to large corporations. There are many porters and guides that will meet you at the plane when your flight comes in to Lukla that are very experienced and capable. Plus, You have the added bonus of being able to interview them and see if you get on and you save money by not having to pay for their flight from Kathmandu. We climbed with our good friend Dipendra in Nepal, a guide with over a decade of experience.

Make Sure to Eat Enough – We provide three meals a day on the trek and a hot drink with each meal. If you’re hungry Dal Bhatt will be your best option as it is served as an all you can eat dish. This is the traditional Nepali dish that consists of rice, dal, a vegetable and a papad (fry bread) and pickle. We recommend the vegetarian options since the meat on the mountain is not very hygienic. It’s okay to eat the Yak cheese and eggs but take it easy on the cheese. Here is a good video showing the typical food and menu options.

Amongst all, autumn is regarded as the best to trek in Nepal as the skies are clear and you can find the better views of Himalayas and hills embellished with exotic flora. You will also get a chance to relish the major festival of Nepalese during this season; Dashain and Tihar, when families reunite and celebrate with great jubilation. Spring boasts enchanting floral display whereas even other seasons are viable for trekking. Rain-shadowed areas of Mustang and Dolpo allow for travellers to relish their majesty all over the year. Treks in Nepal are bound to reward you with unparalleled natural beauty alongside supreme cultural exhibition all over the country. Thus, Nepal is truly a land of divine culture and exotic natural beauty and a perfect destination to experience the thrill of trekking in the lap of humongous Himalayas. The island is home to the largest rainforest in the Asia-Pacific region and the third largest rainforest in the world. There are few places on Earth that rival the diversity of the New Guinea Rainforest. From dense tropical rainforest to coastal mangroves, the island is home to some of the world’s most unique plants and animals. More orchid species are found here than any other place on Earth. New Guinea’s remote location has not protected it from the usual threats. The rainforests face growing incursions from logging, mining, wildlife trade and agricultural plantations – particularly oil palm.

While it would seem that the wet environment would result in a prolific mosquito population, the water in El Yunque is constantly running down the mountain and rapidly, and it rains about four times a day preventing any standing water, so there are no mosquitoes in the rainforest. You can wear insect repellent if you choose, but if so DO NOT go into any water sources. The chemicals in bug spray are hazardous to the fragile ecosystem. Perhaps just cover with long pants and long-sleeved shirts instead of using repellent. Find extra info at El Yunque rain forest exploration blog. The 4 large peaks (El Yunque, El Toro, East Peak and El Cacique) survived the erosion of millions of years and 100 Billions gallons of water per year because they are crystalized minerals from ancient volcanos – very hard materials. The rest of the ground just melts in the rain. But then the millions of roots hold the ground firmly. And most cities and beaches nearby are the result of millions of years of erosion from this center of endless rainfall from the African Trade-Winds (Vientos Alisios).

Do you want to become an independent travel agent? There are money to be made but also lot’s of other advantages. And, most important fact, the entry barrier in the travel agents world can be easily overcomed with the assistance from the right business, in this case i’m talking about focused independent travel agents platforms like globaltravel.com.

You have a passion for travel AND helping others. So A passion for travel is a GREAT reason to become a travel agent, but not so you can satiate your never ending hunger for more travel. In other words, the best reason to become a travel agent is to combine your passion for travel with a passion for helping people.

Key qualities and skills for travel agents ? Many (home based) travel agents learn on the job, but there are also many schools that offer degree programs and certificates in hospitality & tourism. Here, they often focus on the business side of a travel agency, such as travel agent sales and marketing, pricing, planning itineraries and working with computer systems. There are also classed that teach you about specific destinations around the world, but of course that is best learned on location, so if you have a passion for travel, that is a plus! You can start working in this field right after high school graduation. Read more info at Independent Travel Agent.

Travel agents advantages over online booking websites ? They save you money… Travel professionals have access to special discount codes and promotions through suppliers. They often can save an additional amount or provide clients with a dining or spa credit that wouldn’t be available when booking through an OTA. …and time. In a 2016 survey of more than 1,200 consumers, nearly one-third spent in excess of four hours, over multiple days, planning their own vacations. Travel advisors create a custom itinerary, pulling together flights, transfers, accommodation, tours, visits, meals and exclusive visits based on your preferences—so you can spend your time on other things.

If you need to cancel, you’d better do it in advance if you’ve made the arrangements yourself. Changing flights and hotels can get expensive and time consuming. Be prepared to make changes. Make sure you have printouts of all your reservations so if you are questioned, you have proof. If you’re doing the planning, it’s best to choose countries with good safety records. Conversely, if you’re visiting a location where safety is a concern, using a reliable travel agent makes sense.

Here are my top 5 travel places to see : Clarke Quay: This delightful riverside development is packed full of bustling bars and restaurants, boutique shops and pumping nightclubs, attracting a steady stream of tourists alongside Singapore’s party animals. Clarke Quay’s location takes full advantage of the picturesque body of water that emerges from the city’s main river, with alfresco-style dining to be had in an endless number of eateries set around the water’s edge. Other amazing snorkel sites include MUSA , Garrafon Natural Reef Park and Isla Contoy. Top Sri Lanka wildlife safari

Sri Lank safaris and vacation tours … a fabulous travel location that we will focus in this article. Yala National Park: its popularity is also its downfall. Yes, your chances to spot leopards are higher than anywhere else in the world but in our opinion, Yala gets so crowded, that it completely ruins the experience. It is not uncommon to see hundreds of jeeps queuing in the park to see the animals. All the drivers communicate with each other via walkie-talkies, so if a leopard is spotted, within minutes you’ll see a colossal migration of jeeps gathering to see spot the animal. Trying to feel the connection with nature in this context is quite a challenge! Make sure you have a good pair of binoculars to hand so that you can clearly see the leopard(s).

Wasgamuwa is in the dry lowlands of the North Central Province, 40km north of the richly bio-diverse Knuckles Massif. All of the big game is found in Wasgamuwa, but bears and leopards are pretty elusive. However, it is very good for observing family units of elephants, still relatively wild with unpredictable temperaments. Situated in the wet south-west of the island, this is the country’s premier rainforest. The canopy towers up to 45m in places and more than half of the trees here are found nowhere else in the world. Mixed-species bird flocks are a key feature of Sinharaja. Around six endemic birds may make up one flock, including species such as red-faced malkoha, green-billed coucal and Sri Lankan blue magpie. Animals present include leopard, purple-faced langur, barking deer and three types of squirrel. See more details Sri Lanka wildlife safari.

One of Sri Lanka’s seven World Heritage Sites, this rock-top fortress dates back to the 5th century AD. The atmosphere is more spiritual than militant: in its time it has acted as a royal palace and Buddhist monastery. The site is also regarded as one of the most important urban planning projects of the first millennium, and is home to some of the oldest landscaped gardens in the world. Look out too for the mirror wall, a masonry wall that was so well-polished that the king could see his reflection in it.

One of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights is the Nine Arch Bridge in the small mountain town of Ella. This viewpoint offers spectacular panoramas of the surrounding area, which is made up of verdant greenery and tea fields. Visitors can watch trains roll over the bridge as they make their way along the Demodara Loop. Constructed in the early days of the railway expansion in Sri Lanka, the bridge is particularly impressive because it is made of cement, stone and brick, without the use of any steel. Mihintale is a mountain near the town of Anuradhapura. Its summit has much spiritual significance to the Buddhist community. It’s believed that on this mountain top a Buddhist monk named Mahinda met King Devanampiyatissa and together this meeting introduced Buddhism to the country. Monk Mahinda impressed the King with the peacefulness of the Buddhist doctrine and his contented, serene nature. The King subsequently renounced war, and went on to spread peace throughout the nation. There are several impressive religious and historical structures on and around Mihintale Mountain. Hundreds of pilgrims visit the site each year.

Which has the most leopards? Yala National Park: has a higher density of Leopards compared to Udawalawe and is well known for being one of the best places in the world to spot leopards in the wild. The most popular area at Yala open to tourists is block 1, which has an estimated 25-30 leopards. However, leopard-spotting cannot be guaranteed at Yala and you should only go with the mindset that among all the amazing wildlife you will see, spotting the leopards is more like the icing on the cake. Alas, even if you see them, you will quickly be put off by the sheer number of jeeps queueing (almost climbing on top of each other) to get a good look at these elusive animals. Continue reading below about the crowds at Yala for more insight.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka, the Kataragama Festival takes place every year in July or August and is dedicated to one of the Hindu gods. It takes place over a two-week period and people from all over the world come to join in. The festival is jam-packed with parades of elephants and colorfully dressed performers. There are countless traditional dances that take place; with musicians, acrobats, and fire-breathers feeding into the festival’s contagious energy. There are few places in the world where elephant sightings are so frequent. However, elephants are not the only animals to see within Udawalawe National Park; peacocks, jackals, water buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys and deer also roam the area. Safaris are most popular in the early morning hours when animals are at their most active. The biodiversity of the park can be attributed to its varied landscape; it is flanked by mountain ranges to the north with wetlands and rivers hugging the grasslands and forests at the base of the mountains. There are two main galleries: the Singapore History Gallery, which traces the history of Singapore from its beginnings in the fourteenth century to the present day and the Singapore Living Galleries, which focus on four lifestyle themes – food, fashion, film and photography. It’s worth a visit just for the building, an imposing neoclassical structure, complemented by modern glass additions. Hoya imperialis are large flowers and get spectacular pink with white corona when mature. Sometimes the corona is pink as well. It is a good bloomer and you will feel very rewarded when you see the flowers. Since Hoyas are likely to bloom earlier and more often in smaller pots, don’t use a pot that is too big. Another tip for Orchid lovers- keep the room temperature above 60F. Hoya’s are known to grow fast, but this one will exceed all expectations. We found someone stating that their grew 30ft in 18 months. The flowers smell amazing in the evening, with hints of Neroli. They are fragrant, in fact very fragrant.

There is also a boardwalk that connects the conservatory to the town (a 45 minute walk); visitors will be able to see iguanas, flamingos, and many other types of birds during the walk. The conservatory can be explored at no cost, though donations are welcome to help the cause.

North Seymour is situated at the north of Baltra Island in Galapagos, and it is flat shaped due to uplifting phenomenon that occurred ages before. Some of the prominent tourist attractions on this exotic island are endemic Palo Santo trees, unique swallowed tailed gulls, beautiful blue footed boobies, and amazing Galapagos Frigatebirds. Here you can watch the spectacular site of sea lions surfing on the surface of the ocean. Discover extra details on Galapagos Last Minute Cruise Deals.

To really go deep into the hidden world of the Galapagos suit up and dive down on a scuba adventure. You can sign up for a scuba diving course (PADI) on the islands in advance, but without previous training you won’t be able to make some of the advanced dives available. It is best to train as a scuba diver before you visit the islands to make the most of this unique location. Plenty of divers have seen white-tip sharks, marine iguanas, penguins, golden rays, hammerheads, Galapagos sharks and even whale sharks on their dives! Some of the best spots include Wolf Island and Darwin Island. Please note that you require to be a licensed diver.

The Santa Cruz Lava Tunnels were formed years ago when the outer parts of lava created a thick rock wall for the lava to continue flowing within. Over the years, the flow subsided, and what remained are some magnificent tunnels made of solidified lava. The underground channels are large enough for visitors to walk through and explore, and they vary in length and don’t always interconnect. There are many tours available for visitors who really want to learn about the tunnels’ history. It is probable that visitors exploring the lava tunnels will come across barn owls and other types of birds.
